Types of Joints    Butt joint:  Provides a lot of strength, and if the heads of nails or screws are not objectionable, it will do the job well.    Dado Joint:  Is much stronger than the butt joint and creates a more professional appearance.    Stopped Dado Joint:  Has a neater appearance than the regular dado joint because the front edge is uncut. Thus, the slotted area is not visible from the front side.    The rabbet and dado:  Sometimes called the dado and tenon is a combination of a dado on one piece and a rabbet on the other. The rabbet cut forms a tenon that fits into the dado. It is used many times as a back corner joint in good drawer construction, since it holds the two pieces square.    Dovetail dado joint:  Is an excellent locking joint that will carry a great deal of weight.
